Samsung has announced new Y400 and Y600NC wireless headphones. They are of this OEM's 'tuned by AKG' series, and also have a useful feature by which audio is paused on response to their being taken off. Both the Y600NC and Y400 sets also have Talk Thru for potentially improved voice calls as well as Ambient Aware, Samsung's take on the ability to blend environmental awareness with noise cancellation.
On that note, the Y600NCs have ANC, as well as volume controls built right into the outermost shell of the earcups (colored black, silver or gold). The Y400s do not get these features, also they are, like their more premium counterparts, capable of folding flat when worn around the neck and of folding up completely for storage.
The AKG Y400s do have more of a choice when it comes to colors, however. They are finished in black, pink, green, blue or rose gold. They are rated for 20 hours of battery life, whereas the Y600NCs may last 25 hours. They are also capable of USB type C quick-charging.
Currently, they are only available in certain markets, such as Germany, where they are sold for €224.10 (~US$261) or €126.61 (~$148) for the Y600NCs or Y400s respectively.
