Red Magic has reportedly sent out invites for a launch event to be held in China on July 28, 2020. It will debut its first router, which supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard. Its parent company's CEO, Ni Fei, has confirmed that it will activate improvements in terms of bandwidth and speed when it detects that a phone from its own brand is connected.
The new router, which has a rather sizeable cuboid shape and gamer-esque vents, will also apparently feature a high-performance processor and multi-user support. However, it is not the only new, non-phone device that may be launched under the Red Magic name, and far from the most unusual.
A new report claims that the brand will also introduce its first personal fan. This portable accessory will have its signature logo and a white colorway. However, it will not be your average smartphone-company-sold fan: it is also said to feature a screen under its main event.
This little display is also paired with buttons, used to play a Tetris-like game. This strange mini console-slash-fan may take the stage alongside something else that may be able to play games while powering a spinning fan: the Red Magic 5S. According to a new leak, it will be a refresh of the current 5G gaming flagship, but will come with the ability to overclock its GPU.
