Nubia RedMagic 5G coming to the US priced under US$600 with Snapdragon 865 and latest connectivity
Value hunters will have their eyes on the Nubia RedMagic 5G which is headed to the US from just US$579. The device is packed full of high-end features and could well be the best value flagship killer to head stateside this year. Not only does it include the latest in cellular connectivity, it also comes with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor and a super smooth 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate.
The RedMagic 5G also packs in a host of other features. The Snapdragon 865 is mated to either 8 GB or 12 GB of the latest LDDR5 RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. As a gaming focused smartphone (hence the color schemes), it also incorporates a combination of fan and liquid cooling that can lower the SoC temp by up to 18 degrees C. The device also includes built-in shoulder trigger buttons that will come in handy in mobile titles like Fortnite and PUBG.
The battery is also pretty solid rated at 4,500 mAh with support for up to 55 W quick charging, which is among the faster solutions on the market. Cameras are also high-end and include a 68 MP IMX686 sensor from Sony as the main shooter. Wi-Fi 6 is also onboard while it runs a custom variant of Android 10 out of the box. Keeping things premium, it sports a metal middle frame combined with a glass back cover and weighs in at 218 grams.
The Nubia RedMagic 5G is available for purchase in the US now but doesn’t ship until June 22. Also available for purchase a wide range of case and gaming accessories tailored to the device.
