Creative has recently announced the launch of the SXFI Trio USB Type-C in-ear headphones. The SXFI Trio uses a hybrid triple-driver system for balanced, natural-sounding audio and is fitted with a custom-designed Kevlar USB-C cable.
Of the three drivers, two are precision-balanced armatures for detailed mids and highs while the other is a bio-cellulose driver designed for powerful bass. The SXFI Trio is rated for a 100 dB SNR and a 0.008% intermodulation distortion (IMD).
As evident from the name, the SXFI Trio uses an in-line Gen2 Super X-Fi holographic sound tech that simulates a multi-channel surround experience. For those not in the know, Creative's SXFI enables recreating a virtual 5.1 or 7.1 channel ambience from stereo sources. The Trio's SXFI in-line implementation is about 40% smaller than the already small SXFI Amp.
Creative bundles six pairs of angled silicone ear tips of various sizes to enable a good fit. The company says that the SXFI Trio essentially integrates an SXFI Amp and an Aurvana Trio into a single in-ear headphone, whose performance can rival bulky high-end over-the-head headphones.
The Creative SXFI Trio is priced at S$199 (US$143) and can be purchased from Creative.com.
