SXFI AIR GAMER: Creative's latest over-ear headphones come with 50 mm drivers, a Kevlar cable and the company's CommanderMic microphone
Creative Technology has expanded its wireless headphones range, having already released the SXFI AIR and SXFI GAMER. Now, the company has released the SXFI AIR GAMER, which combines elements from the SXFI AIR and SXFI GAMER. Correspondingly, Creative Technology claims that the SXFI AIR GAMER is the most versatile Super X-Fi headphones that it sells.
50 mm Neodymium drivers are at the heart of the SXFI AIR GAMER, possibly the ones that Creative Technology uses in the SXFI AIR. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB Type-C port for a wired connection. Creative Technology claims that it has reinforced its USB Type-C cable with Kevlar for 'greater durability', over which it has added a rubber braid for flexibility. Similarly, the headphones have perforated earpads, so they should remain comfortable and cool during prolonged use.
Additionally, Creative Technology has included a CommanderMic microphone and its Super X-Fi DSP that attempts to recreate a multi-speaker setup. There is also an audio mode for gaming that Creative Technology has called SXFI BATTLE mode and SXFI inPerson microphone technology for optimal voice clarity.
The SXFI AIR GAMER is available to order in the US now for US$149.99 and from April 9 in the UK for £124.99. The headphones can be pre-ordered on Creative's website.
