Xiaomi is attempting to become the standard-bearer of Android TV with Android Pie updates for several Mi TVs

Starting next month, Xiaomi is bringing Android 9.0 Pie to four Mi TV devices. The TVs, which launched running Android 8.1 Oreo, will be updated in batches with a wider roll-out planned a few months later. Xiaomi also told XDA Developers that these updates represent it trying to set a standard for how frequently and quickly Android TVs receive OS upgrades.

The two patents that Huawei filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office at the end of May — and were published last Friday — reveal one color scheme known as "Breathing Crystal" alongside a black/gray design. Chinese company allegedly developing a GTX 1080-class GPU with faster clocks, PCIe 4.0, and high bandwidth HBM memory

Chinese GPU maker Jingia Micro is developing a new GPU that comes close to rivaling the NVIDIA GTX 1080, at least on paper. The JM9271 offers fast clocks, PCIe 4.0, HBM memory, and a 200W TDP. Jingjia's focus seems to be on the specialized military applications market at the moment, but support for DirectX 12 and Vulkan APIs could make it potentially suitable for gaming.

International betas of MIUI may have been terminated, but they are still going for Chinese users. A new leak of the alleged full specifications for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 flagship smartphone has revealed that the device should pack quite a punch and delight fans of the Chinese manufacturer. The Realme 5 series has been released in India, and has been followed closely by the Xiaomi Mi A3 in the same market. It turns out that the Mi A3 and the base model from the new line does indeed have the same processor, although the 5 has quad cameras where the Xiaomi has 3. The latter starts at INR 12,999 (~US$182), whereas the former starts at INR 9,999 ($140).

A phone that looks much the same as those in leaks and renders connected to a smartphone codenamed "daredevil" has popped up again in a tweet posted by a Zeiss employee. Design-wise, the upcoming Reno2 mid-ranger from Oppo appears to be very similar to its predecessor. The specs, however, got quite a few upgrades. Delayed Huawei Mate X primed for Kirin 990 SoC upgrade and P30 camera setup

Initially announced to be a Kirin 980 device, the Mate X, which got delayed once again, is said to be getting an upgrade to the unannounced Kirin 990 SoC. Besides a new ARM Cortex-A77 core cluster, the new SoC will also integrate a 5G modem and will enable 4K@60 fps recording capabilities, and, to take advantage of the increased resolution Huawei is also throwing in a P30 camera setup.

If the device that has just been spotted live turns out to be the upcoming Mate 30 Pro, some of the rumors that we heard so far were spot-on. Realme is now connected to the launch of a new phone, provisionally called the RMX1911 - although it may be named the 5 on release. Huawei has regained the ability to trade with American-based business again...technically. US firms that wish to do so need to apply for a specific new license from the current administration. Bloomberg now reports that these are being withheld in response to China's apparent reluctance to buy more crops from the States.
