Less than two days ago, well-known leakster Ice universe revealed (click here to check out his Instagram post) a protection case for the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 Pro that confirms the round shape of the quad-camera setup on the back. Now, we also have what seems to be a Huawei Mate 30 Pro that was spotted in the wild covered with a custom case that hides this detail.
The two images that were captured in the subway reveal a device with a waterfall screen and a vertical cutout to the left of the hidden main camera setup. This cutout will probably accommodate a few sensors and/or the LED flash and has the same location on both the live unit and the case leaked by Ice universe. The front of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro sports a wide notch that is needed to fit in a dual selfie shooter (and at least an ambient light sensor, most likely).
The aforementioned subway images surfaced on Weibo without any other technical details than the mention of a 40 MP main camera setup, a piece of information that has been in the rumor mill for a while. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is expected to use the HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset, 55 W fast charging, and at least one variant with 5G connectivity. The launch date is not public yet, but since the LIO-AL00 model has just been spotted on TENAA, the Mate 30 Pro should arrive in the coming weeks.
