It seems Huawei is about to release the Y9s, which comes across as a second variant of the existing Y9 (2019), on paper at least. The evidence of the new phone's existence comes courtesy of the Android Enterprise Recommended list, a Google resource directed at business customers.
This suggests that the Y9s is definitely being pitched as a standard-issue work phone already. Such an impression is underpinned by its single 4GB RAM/64GB storage option. The Y9 (2019), on the other hand, has RAM SKUs with 3 to 4GB (or 4 to 6, if you are in China) on offer.
However, those unprepossessing specs are sweeted by the new Y9s' appearance. It is only shown from the front, which nonetheless reveals a screen free of notches of any kind. In fact, it looks a little like the Honor 9X pop-up camera phone series, although the Android Enterprise listing states it has the same 6.5-inch length as the original Y9.
Like many phones on the Recommended database, this phone runs Android 9.0. It offers no further information, such as which processor the Huawei Y9s has. However, it is most likely to either stick with the Kirin 710 found in its predecessor, or possibly the 810 with which the Honor 9X and 9X Pro are now associated.
