Is AMD's Cezanne still fast enough? Design-wise, the Geekom A5 is similar to the well-known Intel NUC mini PCs which are nowadays marketed by Asus. Although an 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen 7 5800H is at work under the hood, the SoC no longer belongs to the newest models on the market. We have analysed the Geekom A5's performance to see if it is currently still worth your money.

Potential for improvement. ProBook, EliteBook, ZBook: Keeping track of HP's model range is increasingly difficult. With the ProBook 445 G10, we test one of the manufacturer's cheaper AMD-based office laptops with a surprisingly bright display.

Long runner. While some notebooks from HP feel more like plastic bombers, the ZBook Firefly looks pretty high-end. We tested the current 14-inch AMD-based G10 A variant and reveal its strengths and weaknesses.

A job well done. The gaming laptop from XMG benefits from moderate noise emissions, comparatively low power consumption and still high performance levels (Ryzen 7 7840HS, GeForce RTX 4050). Completing the setup are good runtimes and a decent price (from around US$1,170).

Peak performer. The XMG Apex 17 proves that gaming laptops don't have to produce excessive noise: Despite high-level performance (Ryzen 7 7840HS, GeForce RTX 4060) the computer manages to run quietly. This is accompanied by well-rounded specs and decent battery life.

A sensible feature? With the AM20, Acemagic has released a mini PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 7735H and an AMD Radeon 680M. Despite its compact form factor, three mass storage drives can be installed and an inductive charging station is hidden in the case lid. AMD Zen 4 works its magic. The AMD Zen 4 U-series platform makes the Intel Core P-series look obsolete. Unless if you value one or two very specific Intel features, then the new AMD Framework should be a no-brainer for most users.

Enduring. A Ryzen 5 7535HS, GeForce RTX 4050, USB 4, and a bright 16:10 display (16-inch, WUXGA, 165 Hz, G-Sync) are the highlights of the relatively inexpensive (€1,250) Nitro 16. Under the right conditions, the already very good battery run times of the predecessor further surpassed. Affordable black box. Lenovo sells their more affordable ThinkPad laptops for business customers as the ThinkPad L series. The ThinkPad L14 Gen 4 AMD is a budget model with AMD - though with Ryzen 7030. The fact that Lenovo does not use Ryzen 7040 does not make the L14 into a bad laptop, but it has some negative consequences.

AMD Zen 4 for budget gamers. If an IdeaPad sounds too cheap and the Legion sounds too expensive, then the LOQ might tickle your fancy. The GeForce RTX 4050 is proving to be very capable for users who are satisfied with a solid 1080p gaming experience at 60 FPS.
