Kingnovy FA780 mini PC packs Ryzen 7 in super compact design
We’ve started to see a good number of compact mini PCs come out lately. For example, there’s the AOC Moss M7, which comes with small housing but features powerful specs inside. And the case is pretty much the same for the Kingnovy FA780 mini PC.
Measuring 5 x 4.5 x 1.7 inches with an internal volume of 0.6 liters, the FA780 mini PC packs the Ryzen 7 7840S APU, which has 8 cores and 16 threads. In addition, the APU comes with the AMD Radeon 780M iGPU, capable of running a good number of games with decent frame rates.
Specifically, according to internal tests, the Kingnovy FA780 can run PUBG at 102 FPS, League of Legends at 175 FPS, and Honkal:Star Rail at 60 FPS.
Nonetheless, to make the APU perform its best, Kingnovy paired it with up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz and 4 TB of the superfast PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD. Moreover, the FA780 mini PC has a decent selection of ports, which include:
- 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 3 x USB 3.2 Gen Type-A
- 1 x USB 4 Type-C
- 2 x HDMI 2.1
- 1 x 2.5 GbE Ethernet
- 1 x audio
For wireless connectivity, the Kingnovy FA780 features Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6. Also, for the inclusion of the USB 4 Type-C port, you can connect an external GPU dock with it. That would allow the mini PC to offer better gaming performance.
As for the pricing, the barebone kit of the Kingnovy FA780 is currently listed at US$436.16 on AliExpress. To compare, the Beelink SER7 mini PC with the same APU, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage goes for US$729 (curr. US$609.60 on Amazon).
