Apple keep their 5 nm chips. Apple have introduced their new SoCs, the M2 Pro and M2 Max. Following the slight lack of efficiency in the M2 compared to the M1, now we will shine the spotlight onto both of the new chips in the MacBook Pro models: the M2 Pro and the M2 Max.

Matte touchscreen. The flagship of the B5 Flip is a large, matte 16-inch OLED touchscreen in a work-friendly 16:10 format (3,840 x 2,400 pixels). With Intel's Arc-A350M GPU, a relatively new, so far rarely encountered entry-level graphics core is on board.

Can Intel's 13th gen keep up with AMD and Apple? Intel's new 13th gen mobile processors are finally available and we review the Raptor Lake Core i7-1360P. It can achieve higher clocks compared to Alder Lake thanks to some optimizations, but there are no significant changes.

Now with fast WLAN. Apple has upgraded the MacBook Pro 14 and the new M2 Pro offers greater performance, and fast WLAN is finally supported. Overall, the MBP 14 is an excellent machine, but Apple has also put some brakes on the M2 Pro in the small MacBook Pro.

Ryzen 5 6650U or Core i7-1270P? The Core i7-1270P is faster than the Core i5-1240P or Ryzen 5 6650U configurations on paper, but it's a bit more complicated in execution. The short Turbo Boost potential of the model means steeper throttling for the Core i7-1270P when running demanding loads.

Now without a stereo jack. Microsoft is now offering the Surface Pro 9 with either Intel or Qualcomm CPUs. The updated Alder Lake-U processor offers significantly more CPU power and the convertible now supports Wi-Fi 6E, but the stereo jack has been dropped.

Room for improvement. With a Core i5-12500H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU, all current titles look smooth on the matte FHD screen (300 Hz). The CPU and GPU are accompanied by a fast PCIe-4 SSD (1 TB), 16 GB of RAM, and a Thunderbolt 4 port. A copy of the Windows operating system is not included.

Two performance cores for 15-Watt CPUs. Intel’s Alder Lake-U chips in the 15W segment are primarily designed for thin and light laptops. However, there can be massive performance differences depending on the implementation and it does not always make sense for the manufacturers to use U-series CPUs, either.

Well cooled: Even for a workstation with a 16-inch screen, the Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip is quite big and heavy. But an efficient cooling system inside the convertible easily dissipates the 140 watts of waste heat generated by the Intel Core i9-12950HX and Nvidia RTX A2000.

BIOS updates improve the performance. After our review of the ZBook Firefly 14 G9, HP released updates to improve the performance. However, further updates were released a short time later, in which the CPU performance was again somewhat reduced. We, therefore, review the performance of the compact workstation once again.
