Lenovo has a series of high-class business laptops in its lineup called the ThinkPad T16. The newest incarnation of the business classic, the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 2, does not change much compared with the predecessor. Pretty much only the CPUs are updated, Alder Lake is replaced by Raptor Lake.
The Core i7-1355U used here is plenty powerful for basic office and web-browsing tasks. It is also powerful enough for simple games, though that is not its main purpose of course. The CPU is accompanied by 16 GB DDR5-5200 on-board RAM running in single-channel mode. It is recommended to put in a second RAM module to activate to dual-channel mode and bring out the full potential of the CPU.
The ex-factory SSD has a capacity of 512 GB, which is not a lot, but enough for the likely use-case of this device. Nonetheless, a €1,850 laptop could offer more. Additional storage can only be added by swapping out the SSD, as there is no second SSD slot.
The computer offer great battery life numbers, it produces very little noise and gets only moderately warm. The large 16 inch screen (1,920 x 1,200, IPS, sRGB, low power) in the work-friendly 16:10 format leaves a good impression. It also should be mentioned that this laptop has a QHD webcam and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
