Samsung launches its cheapest 5G phone of 2021 so far, the Galaxy A22

Samsung has debuted the Galaxy A22 5G in the Dutch market, starting at €249 (~US$303) for a 4GB/128GB SKU. It has arrived alongside what is called its 4G/LTE variant, although the two phones have considerably different specs, starting with their displays. The A22 5G's is larger, although it has a 60Hz refresh rate compared to 90Hz in its 4G/LTE counterpart.

Nvidia CEO says ARM smartphone chips with GeForce GPUs are not coming any time soon, AMD and Samsung can get the edge with the upcoming RDNA2-powered Exynos SoC

Looks like Nvidia is playing the prudent game and is not touching any smartphone chips before completing the ARM acquisition. Its current solution for Android and iOS devices is the GeForce Now cloud gaming service, allowing AMD and Samsung to be first to market with the upcoming Exynos SoC that integrates an RDNA2 GPU later this year.

Even though Arm managed to exceed its yearly revenue targets, it looks like the British company is now enforcing some measures dictated by the Nvidia higher-ups, including freezing all hiring processes and scrapping the FlexPot employee allowance that was particularly useful during the ongoing pandemic. The Xiaomi Mi A2 receives what could be one of its final updates

Xiaomi has rolled out the latest security patch to the Mi A2, one of four Android One smartphones that the company released. This month's update could be of the Mi A2's last though, as the device comes to the end of its allotted software support.
