MWC 2022 | TCL announces an expanded 30 series of smartphones
TCL has revisited its latest line of Android smartphones at MWC 2022, with the introduction of several new members. The OEM underpins its "commitment" to the latest connectivity standard with a 5G flagship for these new 30 V siblings.
Accordingly, this variant has the highest price of the new 30-series phones, with a recommended cost of €249 (~US$279). The TCL 30+ is the next most expensive at €199 (~$223), whereas the vanilla 30 is €179 (~$200). The 30 SE is set at €149 (~$167), with a 30 E at just €139 (~$156).
TCL has not revealed all specs for all these new variants, other than to vaguely reference batteries of 5,000mAh or even greater in capacity for all models, and frames of 7.74mm in height for the 30 5G, 30+, and 30.
However, it has been more effusive about the displays on offer across the range. The more premium 30 5G, 30+ and 30 have the same 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, although it still has the U-shaped notch of the other two.
The 30 SE and E have a smaller 6.52-inch display. They may not be AMOLED, but do share TCL's proprietary NXTVISION technology. Finally, each new phone has a 50MP rear camera.
This new 30-series family are to be available in Europe imminently, with the exception of the 30 E, which will be released in April 2022.
