Render image shows Volkswagen's compact electric car VW ID.2 in a more familiar design
There is an abundance of new electric cars coming to the booming EV market in the next few years. The well-known German automaker Volkswagen for example has already revealed its upcoming electric compact car VW ID.2 back in September, but the associated concept car called ID.Life looked rather tame and not like a realistic production model.
A graphic designer at Motor1 has now edited the available concept images in order to show how the production model of the VW ID.2 could look like. The resulting image is available at the following link. The basic design of the Volkswagen ID.2, which is quite reminiscent of the first-generation VW Golf or even some Apple products, was rounded out with probably unnecessary side mirrors as well as various decorative elements on the car.
The black and white bicolor paint job also corresponds to the design language which Volkswagen has established with its current EVs like the VW ID.4. Production of the VW ID.2 or ID.Life is scheduled to start in 2025, but the affordable starting price of just €20,000 (about US$22,250) could turn this electric compact car into one of the most important vehicles for the mass market in Europe.
