Volkswagen has teased the interior of its long-awaited electric bus ahead of its imminent debut. The ID. Buzz is thus revealed as a vehicle finished with a selection of sustainable upholstery and material choices with "intelligent" Easter eggs and features.

Volkswagen has now announced a global launch date for its first-gen e-bus. The company has also now revealed that it will debut in 2 configurations: an ID. Buzz and an ID. Buzz Cargo, the latter of which is slated to have a partition behind the first row of seats.

Both are also now touted to make the most of their internal space, with the non-Cargo SKU rated to provide up to 1,121 liters of luggage space even with a full complement of passengers (5). The marque has now also offered a sneak peek of the ID. Buzz' interior.

Volkswagen has revealed that the electric microbus will be its first vehicle with completely animal-free upholstery and surface-covers. This involves polyurethane for the steering wheel cover, as well as a fabric made of SEAQUAL yarn, rated to be made of ~10% plastic reclaimed from the ocean, with the rest composed of recycled PET bottles.

This apparently allows Volkswagen to hit its target of making the ID. Buzz as light on carbon emissions as possible. There is also an ArtVelours ECO material for the upholstery, made of 71% post-recycled materials. These materials make for seats in either two-tone or block-color options, 4 and 7 of which will be available respectively on the ID. Buzz' release.

Volkswagen has also hinted at numerous subtle touches throughout the e-bus' interior, which apparently include little incised motifs in the form of either emojis or profiles of the Buzz itself, as well as concealed utilities such as bottle-openers.

Then again, all this still fail to hint at the upcoming vehicle's range, drive-train or motor as yet. Presumably, Volkswagen is holding out on these specs for the ID. Buzz and Buzz Cargo's full "world premiere" on March 9, 2022 at 19:00 CET.
