The Pixel 7 could be a more compact flagship from Google this year
Yesterday, @OnLeaks revealed Pixel 7 Pro renders, supposedly based on leaked CAD images. The leaker has since released corresponding renders of the Pixel 7, the other half of the Pixel 7 series. Incidentally, @xleaks7 shared similar Pixel 7 renders on Wednesday, embedded below.
The Pixel 7, like the Pixel 7 Pro, resembles its predecessor. Hence, the device has curved edges, a flat display with a centred hole-punch camera and a wide camera housing. According to @OnLeaks and @xleaks7, the Pixel 7 measures 155.6 x 73.1 x 8.7 mm. The pair disagree on the camera housing's thickness, although there is only 0.1 mm in it, with @OnLeaks and @xleaks7 asserting that the housing is 2.7 mm and 2.8 mm thick, respectively.
In short, both believe that the Pixel 7 is slightly smaller than the Pixel 6, which measures 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9 mm. For context, the Pixel 5 comes in at 144.7 x 70.4 x 8 mm. While the Pixel 7 resembles the Pixel 6, Google now blends the large camera housing into the device's frame. The same applies to the Pixel 7 Pro, which we have discussed separately. Unfortunately, camera details remain unknown at this stage.
However, Android 13 Developer Preview 1 code has confirmed that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will utilise a next-generation Google Tensor SoC, codenamed GS201. You can read more about what other Pixel 7 series-related details Android 13 Developer Preview 1 has revealed in our corresponding article.
