The Dell XPS 15 7590 Core i5 is quieter, brighter, and almost two times longer-lasting than the XPS 15 7590 Core i9

Other differences include a pulse-width modulation of 1020 Hz an even warmer CPU temperature of 85 C on the slower Core i5 IPS configuration. DPC latency issues continue to be present on both the Core i5 and Core i9 SKUs.

87% Lenovo ThinkPad T590 laptop review: The 4K display offers excellent image quality but requires a lot of energy

Image quality vs. battery life. The standard 1080p display in the ThinkPad T590 wasn't able to convince us in our review. Fortunately, Lenovo offers an optional 4K matte display that provides excellent image quality. However, you have to accept a loss in battery life in exchange.

Too expensive. The PhilBook Max is a 14.1 inch convertible for just over 400 euros. The equipment is fine, but the manufacturer XIDU unfortunately relies on a dark display and a slow Celeron processor.

Motherboards must die: researchers working on silicon-interconnect fabric alternative

Current PCBs are eating too much space and researchers think these can easily be replaced with a new silicon-interconnect fabric that would lead to more powerful devices in reduced form-factors. The use of such new fabrics would also cut production costs and improve heat dissipation. Smartphone SoCs and servers may also benefit from the more streamlined design introduced with the silicon-interconnect fabric.
