LG announces refreshed Gram laptop lineup powered by Intel's Ice Lake CPUs
LG will soon refresh its Gram lineup of thin and light notebooks with Intel Ice Lake CPUs. The new 2020 lineup will include sizes ranging from 14-inch to 17-inch and slim bezel displays that allow for a smaller case for improved portability.
The top of the line for the new Gram lineup continues to be the 17-inch (17Z90N) model that measures 15 x 10.3 x 0.7 inches and weighs 2.98 lbs. With the addition of the new Ice Lake CPUs, all Gram models now benefit from the Iris Plus iGPU, and the 17-inch model complements it nicely with a 16:10 2560 x 1600 IPS display. There is support for up to 24 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM via a soldered + 1 SODIMM slot configuration, while the storage options can include up to dual M.2 PCIe NVMe drives. Among the outstanding features included with the 17-inch model we can find a Thunderbolt 3 port, a backlit keyboard with fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, plus a microSD card reader and an 80 Whr battery.
The new lineup also includes a 15-inch model, a regular 14-inch model as well as a convertible 14-incher. All three models come with a 16:9 1080p IPS display and are clearly smaller and lighter than the 17-incher, but only the regular 14-incher weighs under 1 Kg (2.2 lbs). All other specs are almost identical to the 17-incher, except for the 72 Whr batteries on the 14-inch models and the limit to 16 GB of RAM on the convertible.
No info on pricing and availability for now, but LG will be showcasing the refreshed Gram lineup at CES in January.
