Deal | Get Lenovo's premier Ice Lake Yoga C940 convertible with 512 GB SSD for only $999

End-of-year deals are usually filled with last generation models as stores and resellers want to clear stock for the impending next generation models. Scroll through enough deals and you'll eventually find some diamonds in the rough.

Best Buy is currently running a sale on the Lenovo Yoga C940 for $999 or $300 off the original asking price. The deal is notable because the Yoga C940 is Lenovo's latest 14-inch convertible subnotebook equipped with Intel's newest Ice Lake Core i7-1065G7 processor. Had it been the last generation Yoga C930 with Intel's older Whiskey Lake-U processor, then we would have been less enthused. The Ice Lake CPU offers a high level of GPU performance for a 14-inch convertible form factor. It's not going to run the latest Battlefield games, of course, but less demanding games like LoL, DOTA 2, Rocket League, or Fortnite will run better than you might otherwise expect on a super-thin convertible with no GeForce GPU.

The system is not without its disadvantages. For example, we find the keyboard keys and clickpad to be spongier than on the HP Spectre x360 13 and the lack of an HDMI port means owners will have to rely solely on USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 for docking. Otherwise, it'll be tough to find a better convertible for under a grand.
