LG is adding two new devices to its G7 portfolio. The G7 One is the first LG smartphone to feature a Snapdragon 835 SoC and is part of the Android One program. The G7 Fit, on the other hand, comes with an older Snapdragon 821 SoC but offers two storage options. The G7 Fit is not an Android One phone but shares many features with the G7 One including the Quad Hi-Fi DAC and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

PureView is now an HMD Global trademark

HMD Global, the new home for Nokia phones, has licensed the PureView trademark from Microsoft, which earlier had the rights to use it when it acquired the Nokia Devices and Services Division in 2014. A PureView-branded camera signifies imaging excellence. The new ownership of the PureView trademark is now visible on HMD Global's EU IP Office website but it remains to be seen whether future Nokia phones will actually start utilizing it.

Microsoft fires employees found involved in Hungarian Government bribes

Microsoft has confirmed that it has fired four employees and terminated business relationships with four partners in Hungary over ongoing probings for bribery and corruption. The investigation is on for sale of Microsoft software to middlemen for a discounted price who then resold the same to the Hungarian Government at full price.

Apple will open its first Kyoto store this Saturday

The first Apple store in Kyoto will open its doors to the public on August 25. This retail venue is located on Shijō Dori, the street that has been known as the city's main shopping corridor for almost five centuries. Back in 2003, Apple opened its first retail store outside the US in Tokyo.
