The Nova 5 is the next major smartphone release from the OEM Huawei. Some rumors surrounding this device suggest that it is getting a 32MP selfie camera in its waterdrop notch. Today, (June 17, 2019) this was officially confirmed via Weibo. Other rumors suggest that this device will be powered by the Kirin 810.

The Nova 5 is a new quasi-high-end smartphone destined for launch on June 21, 2019. Despite this, its leaks seem to keep coming. The latest is a device with a model number and specs that may match the upcoming device on Geekbench.

Most SKUs of the Huawei P30 Pro flagship have 8GB of RAM. However, it appears that the OEM is about to release a further variant of this phone with an additional 4GB. Then again, this new, ultra-high-end device may be a Chinese-market exclusive.

Innodisk's Fire Shield SSD(TM) has reportedly been developed to withstand extreme temperatures. It is apparently based on black-box technology in order to maintain 100% accuracy and integrity for the data on its NAND storage. So far, this new type of drive is available in a 3.5-inch SATA SSD form-factor.

A new certification from the Moscow-based Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) requested by the OEM Sony has come to light. It is for a "mobile phone" with the model number J9210. As it matches that of the Xperia 1 closely, it may refer to the rumored Xperia 2. On the other hand, it could also simply be a new variant of the 1.

Samsung has allegedly secured a trademark for a new product called the "Portable SSD T7 Plus". Should this leak prove true, it appears that a successor for the T5 is on its way. This putative product may at least maintain a trend towards max speeds of 540 MB/s, 256-bit AES encryption and a USB 3.1 Gen2 interface in a form weighing just 0.11 pounds.

This figure is based on the volume of relevant phone plans sold by the carriers that have deployed this new mobile data standard in the country. HTC has released new phones for 2019, albeit not flagship-level and only for the OEM's home market. They are the U19e, as projected earlier, and a new Desire-line device. They have 6.0- and 6.2-inch displays, and have double and triple rear cameras, respectively. The U19e will be sold at a price of approximately US$474, whereas the Desire 19+ will cost about $318.

OnePlus has released a new colorway for the 7 Pro. This SKU (Almond) is available in the US or Canada so far. In addition, development leaks indicate that the OEM is preparing the new 'back' gesture, which consists of swiping inward from the side of the screen and is also found in the latest Q betas.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is available in India as of today (June 11, 2019). It offers a full-HD+ screen with a punch-hole camera, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for INR19,990 ($US288). The M40 also features triple rear cameras, 15-watt charging and a 3500mAh battery.

Redmi released a ~US$160 5.99-inch device with the Snapdragon 625 SoC and dual rear cameras in 2018. It is known as the S2 in China and as the Y2 in India. Of these, the S2 has started to exhibit an update to Android 9.0 (Pie).

A new leak suggests that the Moto E line of smartphones may be getting a new generation soon. Geekbench has allegedly added scores for a "motorola moto e(6) plus", running on an SoC that may be the Helio P22. It runs on Android 9 and has 2GB of RAM.

Seagate announces that it is now prepared to market enterprise- and server-grade hard-drives with capacities of 16TB for the first time. The Exos X16 is a helium-based 7200rpm drive, whereas the IronWolf 16TB and IronWolf Pro 16TB are NAS drives. Tencent Cloud has already picked up X16s for use in its operation.

Samsung may released a new phone, which is rumored to resemble the Galaxy A80, soon. According to a new Geekbench database entry linked to the new device (the SM-A9050), it may feature the Snapdragon 675 and have 6GB of RAM. As the A80 is powered by the 730, this is somewhat suspicious.

Once, rumors of a phone with the same internals as a 2018 Samsung flagship phone, but with a much different, ruggedized chassis, did the rounds. A phone roughtly matching this description has been spotted with Thai marketing approval - however, it went under another name in this certification.

A new device called the OPPO CPH1925 (or A1s) has popped up on the websites of Russian, Thai and Indonesian regulatory bodies. Like the A1k before it, it has a 2.0GHz MediaTek processor, a 4000mAh battery and a 6.1 inch waterdrop-notch screen. However, this model improves on its pre-existing sibliing with a dual rear camera.

A new Samsung tablet has gone through FCC validation, and may thus be released soon. Judging by its model number (SM-T295), it will probably be unveiled as a Galaxy Tab A (2019) at this event. The new certifier's listing also suggests that it will be a 7-inch version of the existing Tab A 10.1, with a 4980mAh battery.

Panasonic introduces a new LUMIX S-series camera, which, as it claims, "combines the video quality of a professional camera and the high mobility of a mirrorless camera". This is because it is capable of recording 6K video at up to 24fps, which still maintaining a full-frame unit's form factor. It will be released some time after summer in 2019.

The a9 is Sony's flagship mirrorless camera. It is a 24.2MP full-frame unit with an Exmor RS sensor and a silent shutter. Normally, this extensive piece of kit retails for US$4,498. However, the new "Step up to Sony" offers interested prosumers the chance to pick it up for 22$ off this price.

Motorola has released a new addition to its Z line of smartphones soon. The Moto Z4 has a 5G Moto Mod and a larger 6.39-inch FHD OLED screen. It is available on Verizon in conjunction with plans starting at US$10 per month.

Zotac released the MEK MINI, an appreciably compact high-powered gaming PC, some months ago. However, that has not stopped it from re-appearing as part of the OEM's showcase at Computex 2019. The unit in question has an Intel Core i7-9700 CPU, which is an improvement on the models on zotac.com.

Meizu has launched its new mid-ranger, the 16Xs, today (May 30, 2019). However, it had already released all details on the phone via its own website. The 16Xs rocks triple cameras, a 6.2-inch AMOLED screen and 6GB of RAM.

The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro have only recently emerged to try and conquer the market in China. The higher-end model was launched with 6 and 8GB RAM SKUs. However, an alleged update to the former's TENAA listing indicates that a 12GB model may be added to this list soon.

Coral is a platform developed by Google to support and facilitate on-device AI. Asus has announced that it will use its system-on-module (SOM) on its new AI development kit and single-board computer (SBC). They will be called Tinker Edge T and the CR1S-CM-A respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy XCovers are a line of smartphone that clearly happily sacrifice performance and modern-day looks for ruggedness. It has not seen a refresh since 2017. Now, however, it appears that a phone called the XCover 4s has been certified by Bluetooth SIG.

Thanks to the QNAP QNA-UC5G1T USB 3.0 to 5 GbE adapter, laptops without an Ethernet port can connect to wired networks at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via USB 3.0. However, this piece of hardware can also be used to add extra Ethernet ports to NAS devices. The QNA-UC5G1T should hit the US market by mid-June.

The Quest is Oculus' first all-in-one virtual reality (VR) headset. It is available for sale from today (May 21, 2019). It is also a truly wireless VR set, and uses the company's imaging and touch-sensor technology to deliver this. The Quest starts at US$399 for a model with 64GB of on-board memory.

A new report by SAI Global shows that the number of consumers aware of issues such as privacy, and who value them in their buying choices, is on the rise. It indicates that 2/3 of these individuals surveyed would make a trade-off in favor of a brand known for user-privacy protection over another offering a lower price.
