Starting today, those who are looking for a light gallery app for Android can also grab such a solution that comes directly from Google. Gallery Go is a light Google Photos alternative that works on devices with Android 8.1 Oreo or later, although it has been built for low-end handsets powered by Android Go.
According to Google Photos Product Manager, Ben Greenwood, "Gallery Go helps first time smartphone owners easily find, edit, and manage photos, without the need for access to high-speed internet or cloud backup." Its features include support for SD cards and quite a few easy to use editing tools such as auto-enhance, crop, rotate, and a variety of filters.
Gallery Go — which is obviously free to use — only weighs 10 MB and can be downloaded from Google Play. In less than a day, the app has been downloaded more than 1,000 times and has a rating of 4.8/5 stars after 45 user votes.
