Google discontinues the AdSense apps for Android and iOS
No matter how much some users still love their desktop computers, most of those using the web nowadays do that using mobile devices and most companies involved in providing any kind of internet-related services must take this into account. Google AdSense is one of the most popular such services, and Goole has just made it clear that its future is no longer tied to a certain mobile platform, so the Android and iOS AdSense apps will be officially shut down.
According to Google's official AdSense-related blog, "Nearly 70% of AdSense audiences experience the web on mobile devices. With new mobile web technologies such as responsive mobile sites, Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) and Progressive Web Apps (PWA) the mobile web works better and faster than ever." This made Google review its mobile strategy and discontinue the Android and iOS apps — not surprising at all since both apps have been updated for the last time at the end of 2017.
The aforementioned source also reveals that Google will focus on the AdSense mobile web interface, thus delivering a single web app that supports all present and future platforms. The mobile apps will be removed from the app stores by the end of the year. Google will come up with further announcements regarding the future of AdSense later this year.
Will you miss the AdSense apps for Android and iOS? Are there any features that the web application does not include yet, but can be found in the mobile apps for Android and/or iOS? As usual, feel free to drop a comment below.
