A Samsung phone with an unfamiliar model number has appeared on the Geekbench testing database. It is described as having 4GB of RAM and being powered by the Exynos 9610 SoC - as is the Galaxy A50, which was released some time ago. Therefore, this phone may be getting a new variant, albeit one nearly entirely the same as the old.
The Samsung Galaxy A50 is a mid-range phone released to the international market some time ago. Despite this, it now appears as though its maker has another version of the same phone nearly ready to go. This potential leak has been derived from new Geekbench listings for a novel device.
This potential upcoming phone has the model number SM-A507FN, whereas that of the Galaxy A50 is SM-A505F. Puzzlingly, the two devices are associated with virtually identical results in this benchmark. Both of them have 4GB RAM, run on the Exynos 9610 processor and have Android 9.0 as an OS.
The SM-A507FN and SM-A505F have also posted extremely similar scores in Geekbench 4. Therefore, it seems that Samsung has produced 2 variants of the some phone with little to distinguish them and a staggered release schedule. On the other hand, it is possible that this putative 'Galaxy A50s' may have an as-yet unseen advantage, such as an improved screen or camera set-up.
