Sony has revealed its retractable camera, an in-house system that utilises the 50 MP Sony IMX766. The retractable camera hardware offers up to 2x optical zoom, splash and dust resistance and drop protection.

The Concept Pari weighs 30 g and can capture 1080p footage. The compact webcam can live stream over Wi-Fi at 1080p too, making it more versatile than many conventional webcams. Concept Pari can be mounted to numerous displays or used as a document scanner instead.

DJI has released new firmware for the Mavic 3, its latest drone. An updated DJI Fly app accompanies the firmware release, now at version 1.5.4. Both updates are available now.

Oppo has teased one of the innovations that it will showcase at INNO WORLD between December 14 and 15. The company claims that its retractable camera is built in-house and is waterproof. Hubsan has announced the Ace Pro+, a 560g drone that can deliver up to 37 minute flight times. The Hubsan Ace Pro+ also has a 1-inch CMOS sensor and a 10 km range, among other features.

Hubsan has introduced the ACE SE, a drone that will retail for US$429. The ACE SE can live stream videos from 10 km away, should last up to 35 minutes between charges and can record videos in 4K.

The Crane M3 is a device designed to support and stabilize a DSLR such as the Sony a7 III in a user's hand or on a surface. It is also mechanical, which allows it to support modes such as pan, tilt, portrait or time-lapse on its own. They are controlled and chosen via this gimbal's series-first OLED touchscreen.

GoPro claims to have closed the third quarter of 2021 (3Q2021) with US$317 million in sales, or 13% more year-on-year (YoY). New subscription-based strategies are also still working out for the action-cam brand, with over 100% growth YoY in numbers and takings. A photographer has compared the new Sony Xperia PRO-I against the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple's premier iPhone for 2021. The video shows that Sony's latest flagship delivers significantly better image quality than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, albeit only if you switch to manual mode. Unfortunately for Sony, the iPhone is the better camera smartphone when using automatic mode.

GoPro has revealed an extended battery pack for the Hero 9 Black and the Hero 10 Black. The Enduro battery will deliver up to 40% better battery life than standard GoPro batteries and will be available for US$24.99.

GoPro has confirmed that it will be rolling out a firmware update to the Hero 10 Black, its action camera that has been plagued by overheating and automatic shutdown problems since its launch. The company hopes that the firmware update will address most of the problems, with up to 154% longer runtimes promises when recording videos at 4K and 60 FPS.
