Deal | US$500 discount on Panasonic Lumix GH6 in Amazon and B&H Photo deal
As far as mirrorless cameras go, the Micro Four Thirds system isn't quite as popular as Canon and Nikon's APS-C or full-frame offerings but that doesn't mean you should skip over the hardware it has to offer. Panasonic's Lumix GH6 is Panasonic's latest entry in its Micro Four Thirds mirrorless lineup.
The biggest highlights of the GH6 are its compact size — at just 100.3 mm x 138.4 mm x 99.6 mm and 823 g (3.95 x 5.4 x 3.9 inches and 1 lbs 13 oz) — and rich feature set for both photography and videography. The 25.2-MP Micro Four Thirds Live MOS sensor puts out sharp stills at up to 75 fps with the electronic shutter and single autofocus, or 8 fps with the mechanical shutter, Live View, and continuous autofocus.
In terms of video, the Lumix GH6 can record 12-bit video at 5.8K and up to 60 fps. 4K video is possible at 120 fps, and the little camera also supports the ubiquitous Apple ProRes 4:2:2 format at 10-bit. The GH6 can record video internally to CFexpress and SD cards, write video directly to an external USB Type-C SSD, or output RAW video data to an external recording device.
Despite its compact size, the GH6 keeps the EVF and features a wealth of customisable buttons and dials for easy, tactile settings changes. It also features unlimited 4K 4:2:2 10-bit recording at 60p, making it a solid option for long shoot days or online video streaming.
