Deal | Crucial MX500 4TB SSD on sale for its lowest price ever
Although owners of a modern laptop can grab a high-performing M.2 SSD for fairly reasonable prices these days, there are still a lot of desktop PC owners who would prefer to add a conventional 2.5-inch SATA SSD as a secondary mass storage device to their machine. The Crucial MX500 is one of the more popular drives in this particular segment, and fittingly, its 4TB version has now gone on sale.
In this case, Best Buy is selling the Crucial MX500 with 4TB of storage capacity and TLC NAND Flash for US$209 including free shipping or store pickup where stock permits. The aforementioned sale price is only available for registered members with a free Best Buy account, and the US-based retailer also offers significant discounts for the the smaller model variants of the Crucial SSD - 1TB for US$52, 2TB for US$108. Most notably, the deal for the 4TB solid-state drive undercuts Amazon's best price ever by another US$6 according to Camelcamelcamel.
Naturally, this SATA SSD does not exactly feature the fastest transfer speeds as it only reaches sequential read and write speeds of up to 560 and 510 megabytes per second, respectively. On a more positive note, the 4TB Crucial MX500 has a high endurance rating of 1,000 TBW, and the storage device is also covered by the usual five-year limited manufacturer warranty. Overall, this deal is a solid choice for users who need to store a massive amount of data and have already occupied all their M.2 slots. Last but not least, this SSD works well as a practical external USB drive with the according enclosure (from US$12 on Amazon).
