Apart from this, the mobile workstation is equipped with a current Meteor Lake processor as well as the Nvidia RTX 500 Ada—plus, it boasts good maintenance options. Is its development going in the right direction again?

AI ready with Meteor Lake vPro. The model can be configured with 14th gen CPUs starting from the Core Ultra 5 125U up to even the Core Ultra 7 165H. However, it's clear that the form factor was designed more for U-series CPUs in mind rather than the more demanding H-series.

Too much performance in too little laptop. The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s is the smallest ThinkPad workstation. The model ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 Intel has some interesting features that are MIA from its successor, but the battery life suffers due to the inefficient OLED screen - and the cooling system is overwhelmed by the components on the inside.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The ZBook Power 15 G10 is one of the few 15.6-inch workstations to ship with both AMD Zen 4 Pro CPUs and Nvidia RTX Ada GPUs. If you don't mind missing out on 4K, OLED, ECC RAM, and 16-inch screen sizes, then the ZBook Power 15 G10 should prove to be a reliable classic.

Similar gaming performance to Apple M3 Pro. RDNA2 isn't necessarily bad for an entry-level Radeon GPU, but it's getting long in the tooth and difficult to recommend at such a high $1600+ price tag. The fast Ryzen 9 Pro Zen 4 CPU and 4K OLED touchscreen are otherwise highlights for the ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 model.

The brakes are off: The laptop with that special edge is back. In the new 18 mm thin Zenbook, Asus has installed extremely powerful hardware and finally lets it off the leash. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 in our test unit has up to 140 watts at its disposal and is thus in no way inferior to its siblings in many gaming laptops.
