AnTuTu has released its benchmark charts for March and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered devices take up every place in the top 10 flagship list. At the top of the pile is the OPPO Find X2 Pro smartphone, which is the only device in the list to have an average score of over 600,000 points. Phones from Xiaomi, Redmi, vivo, and realme fill in the rest of the positions.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series with an improved version of its UI—One UI 2.1. The Galaxy S10 series is now also receiving the One UI 2.1 update with all the software features that debuted on the Galaxy S20 phones.

The Exynos 990 has come in for a lot of criticism internationally. As we have discussed in our reviews of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra, the Exynos 990 is a bit of a stinker. Samsung even dropped its in-house chipset from the Galaxy S20 series in South Korea, apparently leading to feelings of humiliation for the company's Exynos team.

The Exynos 990 being a significantly worse chipset than the Snapdragon 865—or even last year's Snapdragon 855—may as well be fact at this point. Samsung appears to disagree, though, for what it's worth.

Going by recent reports, LG has now killed off its flagship G-series, with the LG G9 ThinQ all but officially dead in the water. According to word on the grapevine, the replacement to the G9 ThinQ has now been penned down for a May 15 launch, and is touted to feature a Snapdragon 765G, four cameras in total, and a 4000 mAh battery.

The 8 Pro is rumored to become OnePlus' first flagship phone with wireless charging. Now, a prominent leaker asserts that the OEM will sell a power accessory to support this feature. This brand is also now rumored to have Bullets Wireless Z earphones in the works.

Huawei released the Mate 10 Pro in late 2017 and the P20 Pro about two years ago. Users will soon be able to use a single WhatsApp account across multiple devices. The feature was first spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp, and is expected to make its way to a stable release in the near future. The chances of cross-platform support, however, look grim.

Huawei has released its financial performance report for 2019, which outlines its takings worldwide from all its business, consumer electronics included. They show that overall revenues have increased year-on-year (YoY). However, the growth of its profits did not match those of previous years.

Launched alongside the P40 series, Huawei has announced plans to upgrade over 30 devices to EMUI 10.1. While still based on Android 10, EMUI 10.1 refines upon EMUI 10 in many areas, including smoother animations, along with multi-window, multi-device control panel and multi-screen collaboration improvements. EMUI 10.1 introduces MeeTime too, Huawei's answer to FaceTime. Even an AI assistant is onboard, with Celia likely replacing Google Assistant as the default digital assistant.

Apparently, Oppo found a way to safely implement "air-charging" into smartphones using a new FreeVOOC coil and an electromagnetic emitter that has a 10-meter range. This allows the batteries to constantly charge at 5-10 W while in the range of said emitter, so the phone supposedly never runs out of juice.

Both Xiaomi and POCO have revealed plans to raise the prices of their smartphone products in India due to the increase in Goods and Service Tax on mobile phones. The rate has gone from 12% to 18% and Xiaomi and POCO will soon be updating their smartphone prices accordingly. POCO has also blamed the value of the rupee and supply problems for the price hike.

While the iPhone SE 2 may start at as low as US$349, Apple is still yet to confirm a launch date of its upcoming "budget" smartphone. Now, it has emerged that case inventory for the device, possibly to be sold as the iPhone 9, has started arriving at retailers like Best Buy ahead of an April 5 launch.

Xiaomi is still sending out the stable global Android 10 update to the Redmi Note 8 Pro but the update appears to have removed Netflix HDR support. Vivo has launched its latest 5G smartphone today (March 31, 2020). It is called the S6, in line with some predictions made as a result of its prior leaks. This device has a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen and is also the newest member of the round-camera brigade.

Honor formally unveiled the 30S 5G online in China today. It was less expectedly joined by the Play 9a, a decidedly budget alternative. Quite unlike the new Kirin 820 device, it is a dual-rear-camera phone with 4GB of RAM.
