ZTE Axon 20 5G launches in four colours with an under-screen selfie camera, a 90 Hz OLED screen and a Snapdragon 765G processor
ZTE has finally announced the Axon 20 5G, the first smartphone with an under-screen selfie camera. ZTE has hidden the device's 32 MP camera beneath an OLED screen, which measures 6.92-inches. The screen has a native resolution of 2,460 x 1,080 pixels and minimal bezels on all four sides.
According to ZTE, the area around the camera should look just as bright and vivid as the rest of the screen. A short hands-on video, which we have included below, appears to confirm that this is the case. The company has not confirmed how bright the 20.5:9 aspect ratio screen gets, though. However, the panel is also a 90 Hz one, putting it on par with many other modern smartphones. There is an under-screen fingerprint scanner, too.
Underpinning the Axon 20 5G is a Snapdragon 765G chipset and a 4,220 mAh battery. The latter supports 30 W Quick Charge, but wireless charging is not an option for the device. Additionally, the Axon 20 5G has four rear-facing cameras. The main camera is a 64 MP sensor that ZTE has complemented with an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2 MP macro lens and a depth sensor.
The Axon 20 5G will be available to order in China from September 10. The device will come in black, orange, purple and white, along with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. ZTE will sell the following SKUs:
- 6 GB of RAM / 128 GB of storage - CNY 2,198 (~US$322)
- 8 GB of RAM / 128 GB of storage - CNY 2,498 (~US$366)
- 8 GB of RAM / 256 GB of storage - CNY 2,798 (~US$410)
