Official render of the ZTE Axon 5G surfaces ahead of historic launch
Smartphones continue to be the platform for some of the most exciting advances in the technology space. In particular, the competition in the Android space has really driven innovation with futuristic tech like smartphones with folding displays already in the hands of customers. The ZTE Axon 20 5G is no exception and when it debuts on September 1, it will herald an inevitable rush of smartphones eager to emulate its under-display selfie camera technology.
With less than two weeks to its official launch, ZTE’s Mobile Business president, Ni Fei, has taken to Chinese social media to post the first official renders of the keenly anticipated device. Although the image doesn’t really give use much of a look at the display or the size of the bezels, it does emphasize the all-screen display philosophy of the Axon 20 5G. The rear of the device also features a very effective looking multi-tone gradient design with swirl.
The ZTE Axon 20 5G centers on a 6.92-inch Full HD+ OLED display underneath which resides both its ground-breaking under-display selfie-camera as well as an under-display fingerprint reader. Despite its high-end features and looks, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G, instead of the more potent Snapdragon 865 or 865+ SoCs. RAM options range from 6 GB to 12 GB and storage options range from 64 GB through to 256 GB.
