Axon A20 5G: ZTE pokes fun at display punch holes, notches and pop-up cameras with in-screen selfie camera teaser
ZTE will unveil the Axon A20 5G on September 1, although it has published a fair few teasers about the handset. As we have already reported, the Axon A20 5G will be the world's first smartphone with a selfie camera that sits behind the display. ZTE has published a render of the device that showcases the blank canvas that is its display, which also shows a resplendent back panel that hosts four rear-facing cameras. Now, the company put together a video that pokes fun at camera trends that have swept the smartphone industry in the last few years.
The 15-second video highlights the uninterrupted display of the Axon A20 5G, which also appears to have minute bezels. There are no guarantees that the bezels will actually be that small though, as OEMs have a habit of stylising these in marketing renders. Nonetheless, there will be no ungainly notch or punch hole on the Axon A20 5G, nor will there be a mechanical pop-up camera.
According to the TENAA, ZTE has hidden a 32 MP camera beneath the display, which it has complemented with a 64 MP primary rear-facing sensor. While the device's 6.92-inch AMOLED screen will be uninterrupted, it will only be a 1080p panel. Additionally, a Snapdragon 765G is expected to head up the Axon A20 5G, so it will not compete with flagship smartphones on performance.
