Huawei updates EMUI 10.1 upgrade plans in eight regions as rollout begins winding down
The rollout of EMUI 10.1 is coming to an end. Huawei has been upgrading handsets to its latest OS for several months now, and it has just updated multiple upgrade plans for open market devices. Please note that these upgrade plans only apply to handsets that are factory unlocked.
According to Huawei, it has now finished its upgrade plan for open market devices in Canada and Western Europe. These regions join Japan as the only ones where EMUI 10.1 has reached all handsets. It is a similar story in North-Eastern Europe, where the update has been delivered to all but the Nova 5T and Mate Xs. These devices are receiving EMUI 10.1 in batches, though.
Additionally, Huawei has delivered EMUI 10.1 to all but the Mate Xs in Africa and the Middle East. The EMUI 10.1 for the Mate Xs in the two regions will not begin until early September, which presumably means from September 1 onwards. Likewise, EMUI 10.1 has reached most handsets in Central Asia and Russia. Huawei claims that it has delivered the update to all devices save for the P30, P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro. Again, EMUI 10.1 is being issued in batches for these three devices.
Finally, Huawei continues to push EMUI 10.1 to all eligible devices in Latin America. However, it has now finished issuing the OS update for the Mate Xs. We would expect Huawei to have ended the EMUI 10.1 within a few weeks as it gears up to release EMUI 11.
