Leaked Xperia 5 II promotional video confirms Snapdragon 865, 120 Hz display and 4,000 mAh battery for Sony's next flagship
It has only been a few days since Evan Blass leaked over two dozen marketing images of the Xperia 5 II, but the renowned leaker has struck again with a promotional video for the upcoming smartphone. The video runs to over three minutes, during which Sony shows the Xperia 5 II in various scenarios. Previous leaks had already confirmed that Sony would be re-using the three cameras from the Xperia 1 II on its new device, but the Xperia 5 II has a few tricks up its sleeve.
The video makes it clear that the Xperia 5 II has a 120 Hz display, a first for a Sony smartphone. The screen also has a 240 Hz touch sampling rate, which the video claims will further reduce motion blur when gaming. While we are on the topic of gaming, the Xperia 5 II will also have a Game enhancer that contains options to hide notifications, release RAM, lock the navigation bar among other customisations.
The video confirms that a Snapdragon 865 will power the Xperia 5 II, another component that Sony has brought over from the Xperia 1 II . Underpinning everything is a 4,000 mAh battery, putting the Xperia 5 II on par with the Xperia 1 II and leagues ahead of the Xperia 5 with its 3,140 mAh battery.
In short, the Xperia 5 II is shaping up to be a great upgrade over the Xperia 5. Essentially, Sony has combined all the great features of the Xperia 1 II with a high-refresh-rate display within a more compact chassis.
