Sony Xperia 5 II visits the TENAA ahead of its September 17 announcement
Sony is but two days away from unveiling the Xperia 5 II, its follow-up to last year's Xperia 5. Sony has yet to publish any promotional materials of the device, but countless ones have been leaked by Evan Blass. Now, the TENAA has published its listing for the Xperia 5 II, proving a few aspects about the device.
Notwithstanding its internals, the TENAA has confirmed the design of the Xperia 5 II, which is reminiscent of the Xperia 1 II. The ToF camera from the latter may have gone, but the Xperia 5 II effectively has the same back panel as the one on the Xperia 1 II. In fact, the Xperia 5 II looks like a slightly shorter version of the Xperia 1 II, although there are also hardly any differences from the back panel of the Xperia 5 either.
Additionally, the TENAA confirms that the Xperia 5 II has a 6.1-inch display and measures 157.65 x 68.4 x 8 mm, making it roughly the same size as the Xperia 5. The TENAA also refers to the Xperia 5 II as having a 3,860 mAh battery, but we suspect that Sony will state it has a 4,000 mAh typical capacity, instead.
Previous leaks have suggested that the Xperia 5 II will have a 120 Hz screen and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device will have the three 12 MP cameras from the Xperia 1 II, too.
