The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has received a new update. The update, which is rolling out globally now, brings the device onto the August 2020 set of Android security patches.

Xiaomi has issued a new update for the global version of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The new build, called V12.0.3.0.QGGMIXM, follows an equivalent update that Xiaomi released to the Russian version of the device last month. The global edition of the Redmi Note 8 Pro has already been upgraded to MIUI 12, but V12.0.3.0.QGGMIXM is another chance to download Xiaomi's latest OS if you have not already done so.

According to a Mi Community post, V12.0.3.0.QGGMIXM brings the August 2020 set of security patch updates to the Redmi Note 8 Pro. According to one user, there are still issues with regular and live wallpapers when in landscape mode, but this may be isolated to the stock launcher. Other than that, V12.0.3.0.QGGMIXM does not appear to break anything, as Xiaomi has been accustomed to doing with its Android One handsets this year.

If you would like to install V12.0.3.0.QGGMIXM manually, then you can do so via the links below. These links are hosted on Xiaomi's servers, for reference. MIUI 12 and Android 10 are probably not the end of the road for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, though. Based on experience, Xiaomi will bring at least two Android OS upgrades to the device, which should see it receive MIUI updates until MIUI 13 or MIUI 14.
