Xiaomi’s engineers and designers never seem to sleep as patents related to the Chinese OEM constantly pop up, similarly to the camera system in this latest concept that has been shared via LetsGoDigital. Clearly, unblemished full-screen smartphones are the future and Xiaomi has tried to come up with numerous methods of producing a smartphone that accomplishes this mission. But under-display camera equipment may not be the only way forward.
It appears Xiaomi hasn’t discarded the idea of pop-up camera solutions for its devices, which may end up featuring in future affordable Redmi-branded smartphones. This particular idea has two separate pop-up camera units set at an oblique angle from each other, and there are two lenses in each pop-up component – one facing the front and one facing the rear.
This means this potential Xiaomi smartphone can offer a pop-up dual-camera system for both the selfie camera and main camera, leaving the device with a full screen. The LED flash on the rear sits in between the pop-up units, although it has been questioned why Xiaomi would want to leave the rear of the smartphone without a camera system, unless the Chinese OEM has something even more amazing to place on the back and requires the additional space.
