Realme has been on a roll this month. The OPPO sub-brand has released a slew of device so far, starting with the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro, and on to the more feature-packed Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro. The company doesn't appear to be done with its 7-series, however, and is set to release yet another device.
The new phone will be the Realme 7i, and appears to be positioned similarly to the Redmi 9 in its own lineup. That means it will sit below the Realme 7 in Realme's budget phone pecking order. The Realme 7i is expected to sport a 6.5-inch 90 Hz LCD. Sadly, the display will be a 720p panel. That's a shame, as the Redmi 9 now offers a 1080p display. It's offset by the high-refresh rate, however.
Under the hood of the Realme 7i will be a Snapdragon 662. At the moment, we cannot confirm how it compares to the Helio G80 on the Redmi 9. Be on the lookout for a thorough comparison piece, though. While the Redmi 9 tops out at 6 GB of RAM, the Realme 7i will go up to 8 GB. Storage maxes out at 128 GB.
Supplying the Realme 7i with power will be a 5000 mAh battery. It doesn't get Realme's 65 W SuperDart charging, however, and is capped at 18 W. Housed within a hole punch will be a 16 MP selfie camera, while the back of the phone will play host to a quad-cam setup comprised of a 16 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and two presumably useless 2 MP sensors.
We'll be sure to keep you updated on this.
