Poco has launched a non-Pro variant for the M2 series in India, as indicated earlier. The phone is a rebrand of the Redmi 9/9 Prime, albeit with slightly different styling. This means it is powered by the Helio G80 SoC, has 6GB of RAM and quad rear cameras.

The M2 is Poco India's latest phone, thus confirming some pre-launch rumors. Unlike the X3, however, it will not come as a complete surprise to the smartphone market: it is also sold in other markets as the Redmi 9.

Nevertheless, the M2 gets some new rear panels for this package. They come in different colors to the 9, and also drop the radial effect that normally acts on the device's rear cameras. The overall result is that the M2 is more reminiscent of the Pocophone F1. These casings come in Brick Red, Slate Blue or Pitch Black options.

Otherwise, the M2 offers the same 6.53 FHD+ display, 13+8+5+2MP rear cameras and MediaTek Helio G80 processor as the Redmi 9. It will be available as a 6GB phone in India (whereas the eerily similar 9 Prime has 4GB) with 64 to 128GB of internal storage.

Their sales pages on Flipkart will go live on September 15, 2020, at which point the former will go for INR 10,999 (~US$150) and the latter will be INR 12,499 (~$170).
