New updates arrive for the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Mi A3

Following the seeding of updates to the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9S, Xiaomi is now also sending out new updates to its other phones, with the popular Redmi Note 8 Pro leading the way.

The new update lands on the Redmi Note 8 Pro with the software designation number "MIUI V12.0.2.0.QGGINXM". That denotes that it's an update for the Indian model of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The update weighs in at 402 MB and delivers the September security patch, with a changelog citing "Increased system security". The update may not have rolled out to all owners of the Indian Redmi Note 8 Pro but will likely do so shortly.

The Mi A3 is also getting the September security update. Unlike the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the Mi A3 update is for the global version of the device. The OTA bears the build number "V11.0.21.0 QFQMIXM", and weighs in at just 36.63 MB. That's typical with Xiaomi's Android One monthly patches.
