New updates land on the Redmi Note 8 and Mi A2 Lite

Xiaomi is now sending out new updates to some of its phones, with the Redmi Note 8 and Mi A2 Lite getting OTAs. For the Redmi Note 8, two updates have been sent, to the global and Indian models of the devices. Owners of the global model of the Mi A2 Lite should now also be getting the September patch.

Xiaomi may have started the third round of its MIUI 12 rollout but the company is still sending out MIUI 11 to some of its phones, with the most popular of the lot being the Redmi Note 8

Xiaomi has now sent out a new update to the Redmi Note 8. This isn't the update Redmi Note 8 owners may have been expecting, as their phones is billed to get MIUI 12 soon as part of Phase Three of the rollout. The new update is a MIUI 11 build and bears the software designation number "MIUI V11.0.10.0.PCOMIXM", denoting that it's an update for the global model of the Redmi Note 8. The update weighs a healthy 275 MB and offers optimization for improved system stability and reduced system lag.

The Redmi Note 8 is also getting an update in India. The OTA bears the software designation "MIUI 11.0.6.0 PCOINXM". It weighs in at 253 MB and delivers the August security patch.

Meanwhile, the Mi A2 Lite is also receiving a similar update. The Android One phone is getting the September security update, with build number "V11.0.11.0 QDLMIXM". The update is for the global model of the Mi A2 Lite, but a similar build will likely soon start rolling out to other variants.
