Samsung really does not want people unlocking their devices. With the Galaxy Z Fold 3, unlocking the bootloader disables the device's cameras. While seemingly a software lock, it is not a good look for the South Korean company.

The OEM Huawei has had a patent for a new kind of smartphone display approved by the US Patents and Trademarking Office (USPTO). It describes a device with a screen that goes all the way down to meet the rear panel. Therefore, the 2 "arc-shaped" pieces of panel that effectively form the sides of the phone act as its buttons, and, possibly, other controls depending on context.

The launch of the Pixel 6 series is probably still at least a month away, but a Google manager has seemingly posted a screenshot from the Pixel 6 Pro on Twitter. Innocuous enough perhaps, but the image may have confirmed two aspects about the upcoming flagship smartphone.

The design of the rear case of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11T has been revealed in an FCC listing. The certification database also mentions that the Mi 11T will operate on MIUI 12.5 out of the box and that it has an “overall diagonal dimension” of 174 mm. OPPO's Future of Imaging conference of today (August, 19, 2021) introduced a number of new and potentially powerful camera upgrades that might start to appear in new smartphones over the next couple of years. The OEM claims they include advanced hardware-based stabilization, continuous zoom modules and a new RGBW matrix for next-gen sensors.

According to a report, the Mi 12T and Redmi K50 could be very similar devices. The Mi 12T may have a few advantages over the Redmi K50 though, including OIS.
