Microsoft is introducing the concept of console-as-a-service with the Xbox All Access subscription. With Xbox All Access, customers can get an Xbox One S or Xbox One X console along with 2 years of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold access. The subscription starts at a monthly fee of US$21.99 without any upfront costs and is currently available only at Microsoft Stores in the US subject to qualifying a credit check.

GameStop will be selling the 500 Million Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro bundle tonight starting from 12.01 am CDT / 1.01 am EDT. Sony will be making only 50,000 of these consoles, which are being crafted to commemorate the PlayStation brand selling 500 million units of the console since the introduction of the PlayStation 1 in December 1994.

Showtime's President of Programming Gary Levine confirmed that Master Chief would be a 'lead character' in the Halo TV series. Showtime is taking all care to protect the mystery behind Master Chief's face and is working with Microsoft's 343 Industries to do justice to the project, which also features Hollywood biggies like Steven Spielberg, Kyle Killen, and Rupert Wyatt.

The quad-core 3 GHz Ryzen CPU will integrate a 1.3 GHz Vega-based GPU with 24 Compute Units connected to 8 GB of GDDR5 VRAM. This particular SoC will debut on a gaming console designed specifically for the Chinese market by PC maker Subor. Prices are still unknown.

Almost three years since its launch as a closed beta game for Windows PCs, Armored Warfare is finally available for Xbox consoles. The Xbox One version succeeds the PlayStation 4 variant by only a few months and joins World of Tanks and War Thunder, both already available on Microsoft's game console.

Microsoft has released a strong set of financial results for the fourth quarter of the 2017/2018 financial year and equally impressive results for the full fiscal 2017/2018 year. ATARI's classic arcade game Tempest that was released in October 1981 is making a return as Eat Electric Death! Tempest 4000 with new features and 4K graphics. The Battlefield V Closed Alpha stage has just reached its final day and now this title is ready for the next step. According to DICE, the Open Beta for Battlefield V will go live in the first part of September. The full game is scheduled to launch mid-October for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The Darksiders 3 studio, namely Gunfire Games, is now working on a brand-new title, the third-person survival-action shooter Remnant: From the Ashes. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future and involves interdimensional fights with a mysterious race called The Root. If everything works as planned, the game should launch next year.

After the changes brought by the post-meteor strike Season 4, Season 5 of Fortnite is now on its way and will kick off on July 12 at 4 AM EDT (08:00 GMT). The strange rift events that have started to appear after the recent in-game missile launch will probably play a role in Season 5 as well, but the details are not public yet.

At Computex 2018, HDMI showed off some new features of the HDMI 2.1 specification on the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X will be the first device to support HDMI 2.1 features such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). Sony’s first-party studio, Naughty Dog, has announced that its game, The Last of US, has sold 17 million copies, making it one of the best-selling games of all time. The game was released back in July 2013 and a sequel is in the works.

A Microsoft executive has confirmed that the company is working on new Xbox consoles. A new trailer for the shooter game World War Z has been posted online, and it looks like a must play for any fan of the zombie genre. Epic Games has published a new State of Development post for Fortnite detailing upcoming changes for the battle royale giant. Apparently, a new Playground Limited Time Mode will be introduced that will allow players to explore the map without fear of being instantly obliterated by a hardcore Fortniter. Nintendo has been spotted applying for a trademark for the N64 in Japan. This has led to further speculation that the Japanese company could be developing a smaller “classic” version of the renowned console. The original Nintendo 64 was released in 1996 and sold over 32 million units worldwide. It was discontinued in 2003.

An official reveal trailer for Battlefield V has been released, and it certainly doesn’t skimp on drama and intensity. As expected, the action takes place in the battlegrounds of World War II and features arguably less familiar settings such as the destroyed city of Rotterdam and the frozen landscapes of Norway. The game is scheduled for general release on October 19.

A new paper compiled by LG and Google researchers stipulates that the human eye has a resolution of about 9600 x 9000 pixels with a FOV of 160 x 150 degrees. The new LG OLED VR screen is not there yet, but i certainly seems to be the best on the market right now, with its 4800 x 3840 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 120 x 96 degrees FOV.

Nintendo is now selling a cheaper Switch bundle without a TV dock or AC adapter. By sacrificing these accessories, gamers can save ¥5,000 (~$45). Unfortunately, the bundle is currently exclusive to Japan, and there's little chance Nintendo will release a stand-alone Switch in the West anytime soon.

A 2016 study has high hopes for gamers even though consoles and physical discs are not anywhere near where they used to be a decade ago. Mobile gaming could rise to 68.4 billion USD in market value by the end of this year compared to 59.8 billion in 2017 with Fortnite, PUBG, Candy Crush Saga, and Pokemon Go leading the pack in terms of popularity.
