PlayStation Plus July catalogue leaked: Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War to star the show
Many would consider last month's PlayStation Plus lineup a bit underwhelming. According to prolific leaker Billbil-kun (via Dealabs), Sony aims to remedy that, this time with two high-profile titles headed to the subscription service in July 2023. The leaker has a solid track record with PlayStation-related leaks, and we should expect an official announcement from Sony soon.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will be the star of the PlayStation Plus lineup (all three tiers). The 2020 title, announced just a day after the PS5, does not natively run on the console, so one has to make do with the PS4 version. It includes a few in-game cosmetics, such as an operator skin and two weapons blueprints. The Call of Duty franchise has been at the centre of the Microsoft-Activision acquisition discourse, and its inclusion in the PS Plus July lineup seems like a strategic move.
Next up on PlayStation Plus, there's Alan Wake Remastered, Remedy Entertainment's occult-themed title, elements of which found themselves in future releases like Control. It includes both "The Signal" and "The Writer" story expansions. Sony has done well to include it in the PS Plus lineup, as it will help more get players get into the franchise before Alan Wake 2 drops this October.
Last on the PS Plus list for July 2023 is Endling- Extinction is Forever, an indie title that has you play as a fox navigating through a ravaged world with her litter. All three titles are available on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and will be free to keep as long as there is an active subscription.
