Update: Sony has confirmed the rumour via a blog post. Other titles to hit PlayStation Plus include The Quarry, Outriders, Tekken 7, Ace Combat 4, Earth Defence Force 5, Oninaki, Lost Sphear, I Am Setsuna and The Forgotten city.
Sony's monthly PlayStation Plus Essential titles are, for the most part, quite dated. PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers, on the other hand, get access to newer titles before their Essential counterparts. Prolific leaker Bilibilikun has now posted some new games that will hit the subscription service soon.
Horizon Forbidden West is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the lot. Although Elden Ring overshadowed its launch, it is arguably one of the best-looking games of 2022. While it would be better if players familiarized themselves with Horizon Zero Dawn to understand the story better, one can also enjoy Forbidden West by itself. Unfortunately, it is exclusive to PlayStation Plus Premium (and Deluxe) users on PS5 and PS4.
Next up, Square Enix and Bandai Namco's action RPG Scarlet Nexus will be accessible to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on current and last-gen consoles. Launched in 2021, the game has good replay value due to the parallel storylines experienced by its two protagonists, although its graphics and art style might not be for everyone.
PlayStation Plus Essential players get access to Borderlands 3 and Resident Evil VII. Bilibilikun says other (presumably lower-profile games) will accompany the four mentioned earlier. PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers can access the titles starting on February 21. An official blog post from Sony should ideally come before that, detailing the new games that will hit the platform and others that are on their way out.
