Retailers have started revealing launch pricing for the Stealth 16 Studio, a high-end laptop that MSI presented last month at CES 2023. To recap, the Stealth 16 Studio has a 16-inch IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and up to a 2.5K native resolution (2,560 x 1,600). Additionally, the laptop has three display choices with 120 Hz, 165 Hz or 240 Hz refresh rates, as well as a 99.9 Wh battery and five heatpipes to keep its powerful CPU and GPU cool.
Initially, MSI claimed that the Stealth 16 Studio would start at US$1,999 with an Intel Core i7-13700H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. However, the same processor combined with a GeForce RTX 4060, 16 GB RAM and 2 TB storage will cost €2,999 in the Eurozone. Theoretically, this configuration is the middle of three that MSI will offer, making a price tag north of €3,000 likely for GeForce RTX 4070 editions.
In comparison, MSI has pitched the same configuration but with 1 TB of storage for £2,399 in the UK. The jump to a GeForce RTX 4070 appears to be a pricey one in the UK too, with Currys UK listing a Core i7-13620H combination for £2,599. For reference, the Core i7-13620H has four fewer efficiency cores than the Core i7-13700H. Effectively, the Core i7-13620H is a higher-clocked Core i7-12650H.
At the time of writing, UK retailers hope to have stock of Stealth 16 Studio units from next week, which would be in line with MSI's launch estimates. Conversely, Alternate.de reports that the laptop may be unavailable in Germany until mid-March. Please see the links below for more details.
