Final Fantasy XVI release date, PlayStation exclusivity and pre-order price confirmed
The tale of Clive Rosfield is about to unfold. Square Enix and Sony have finally revealed pre-order dates and pricing for "the first full action RPG" of the Final Fantasy series. Naturally, devices like the latest BRAVIA TVs and INZONE M9 are now being touted as the best displays to bring its new battles and characters to life.
Sony asserts that its Cognitive Processor XR with XR Clear Image for big screens are rated to recreate the FFXVI experience as realistically as possible, while the BRAVIA TV Game Menu is backed to offer an edge by boosting brightness in darkened settings for accurate enemy detection.
Then again, that is all well and good without a copy of the game beforehand. Square Enix has published 3 different editions of FFXVI: Standard, Deluxe and Collector's, the 2 higher-end of which come with perks such as cloth maps of the new world Valisthea.
There is a range of pre-order options for the game, doing so through Amazon, Best Buy or Square Enix itself (note that the Collector's Edition is unavailable through that first one at the time of writing). They will cost US$69.99 to US$349.99 ahead of FFXVI's June 22, 2023 general release.
