PlayStation Days of Play 2023 dates announced; up to 40% discount offered on select games

After a PlayStation Showcase that got mixed receptions, Sony has revealed some details about its upcoming promotional event: Days of Play. It offers hefty discounts on a wide range of PlayStation games, hardware and subscription services. The sale goes live on June 2 2023, and expires on June 12. More information will be available on Days of Play's dedicated webpage.

All three versions of PlayStation Plus (Essential, Extra, Premium/Delux) will be available for a 25% discount during Days of Play. This applies to both new/existing subscribers and when upgrading from a lower tier to a higher one. Similarly, there is a 15% discount on PlayStation accessories and up to 40% on games (Digital and Physical). Lastly, on June 2, 7 and 12, there will be special offers on PlayStation-branded merchandise.

It is important to note that the Days of Play promotions will vary regionally. In places where PlayStation Direct is unavailable, gamers can still get discounted goodies via local retailers. The actual PlayStation 5 console, however, will likely sell for full price. Then again, it has become a lot easier to get one now at its (now increased) MSRP. One can also grab some exclusives like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and Demon's Souls at a discount to while away the time until Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launches later this year.
