God of War Ragnarok's game director Eric Williams said in an interview that the game is unlikely to get any DLC because the developers have put quite a lot of content into the game. However, he doesn't rule out the possibility entirely, indicating there could still be some hone for fans seeking closure.

God of War 2018 disappointed many fans by not launching any story-driven DLC content. With God of War Ragnarok out of the way, Santa Monica's decision to skip it makes sense, as the unexplorable areas in the original (Vanaheim and Svartalfheim, among others) are explored thoroughly in the sequel. Eager fans expecting post-launch content for God of War Ragnarok will be disappointed to know that it, too, could follow its predecessor's footsteps.

Game director Eric Williams sat down with Kinda Funny Games to talk about God of War Ragnarok. In the attached video below, he confirms the game is unlikely to get any DLC. That is a bit disappointing, given the numerous loose ends left at the end of the game, which we will not reveal here to avoid spoilers. However, Eric didn't completely rule out the possibility of future DLC.

After all, the game has been out only for a few weeks, and the devs might not be aware of any DLC plans themselves. God of War Ragnarok DLC could also set the stage for the next title in the franchise. While everyone would like to see the Ghost of Sparta in action once more, the ageing protagonist might not have what it takes to destroy yet another Pantheon.
